The 2023 Met Gala, which honoured the work and legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, presented a red carpet replete with vintage Chanel, wedding gowns (an homage to the late designer’s tradition of closing each Chanel couture show with an elaborate bridal look), tributes to Choupette, and design signatures like pearls, tweed and 3D flowers. Naturally, this made for quite a cohesive Met Gala red carpet where most attendees understood the assignment.
