Even if you pay close attention to the CDC’s guidelines for how to keep healthy during this global coronavirus pandemic, it’s always good to have a refresher course on proper hand-washing measures. On Saturday, Selena Gomez took part in the viral “Safe Hands” challenge. Gomez was nominated to do the challenge by Huffington Post co-founder and Thrive Global CEO, Arianna Huffington.

She starts the video off by saying she’s washing her hands for 40 seconds, which is “The ABCs” twice. “Who would’ve thought, because I clearly wasn’t washing my hands the right way,” Gomez says. Even the most health-conscious person is likely nodding along to that statement right now.

In the video, Gomez is sure to rub the tips of her fingers in circles on the palms of her hands, which is supposed to help clean under the nails. She also mentions that this is important for anyone who has nails on the long side, like she does. “Sorry guys,” she says laughing, when the soap makes that familiar, gross squishy noise between her hands. It’s OK, Selena; we all hate that noise, too.

“We can make it fun,” she says as she continues to lather up her hands (this hand-washing thing does get boring after several seconds). She looks around the room. “Got my nana in here, got my dog.” Everyone needs company while practicing good hygiene.

Last week, Gomez posted a video featuring The Bachelor‘s Madison Prewett while on a Target run to prep for quarantine.

“I hope everyone is being safe and taking good care of yourselves,” she said in the video. “I know you’re probably tired of hearing it, but I just want to let you guys know that I am praying, and I’m thinking about everyone.”
