Kate Middleton and Prince William secretly visited London Ambulance Centre in Croydon in support of the UK’s National Health Service’s work, especially now during the global coronavirus pandemic. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge both wore suits for the occasion, William in a navy suit and Kate in a dusty rose-colored suit by Marks and Spencer.

According to the royal family’s site, Kate and William met “staff who have been taking NHS 111 calls from the public and thank[ed] them for the vital work they are doing.”

William made a statement after the visit, saying, “Catherine and I were proud to visit staff working at NHS 111, to pass on our personal thanks, along with those of my grandmother and father, to staff working around the clock to provide care and advice to those that need it most.”

“The last few weeks, and more recent days have been understandably concerning with the continuing spread of coronavirus,” he continued. “But it’s at times like this when we realize just how much the NHS represents the very best of our country and society.”

Kate and William aren’t the only royals using their platform to help during COVID-19 outbreak. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are using their Instagram to provide resources during the pandemic. Today, they shared a post on mental health:

Earlier this week, they explained how they were using their account to help others:

We will be sharing information and resources to help all of us navigate the uncertainty: from posting accurate information and facts from trusted experts, to learning about measures we can take to keep ourselves and our families healthy, to working with organizations that can support our mental and emotional well-being.

In addition, we will focus on the inspiring stories of how so many of you around the world are connecting in ways big and small to lift all of us up.

We are all in this together, and as a global community we can support each other through this process—and build a digital neighborhood that feels safe for every one of us.

We look forward to sharing more over the days and weeks to come…
