Hallmark’s Christmas Movie Marathon Is Back to Keep You Occupied During Self-Isolation

Culture

Hallmark Christmas movies tend to follow the same two formulas: A business executive falls in love with her high school crush during a short visit back to her hometown for the holidays, or a guy gets stuck in a random town during a snowstorm and falls for a woman preparing for the town’s annual baking competition.

But no matter how cheesy the storyline, Hallmark Christmas movies always put us in a good mood during the holiday season. So it makes sense, then, that Hallmark would be bringing back its feel-good movies at time when the world could use a little escape from our new reality.

The good news? Starting this Friday (March 20) at noon, Hallmark will revive 27 of its Christmas films from its Countdown to Christmas marathons, beginning with A Christmas Detour, Candace Cameron Bure’s holiday flick about—you guessed it—two New York City-bound travelers who become “close” after a snowstorm reroutes them to an airport hotel in Buffalo. I’d tell you how it ends but you probably already know. Now, for some bad news: The movie marathon is only for the weekend and ends on Sunday, March 22 with Christmas in Rome, starring Mean Girls’ Lacey Chabert.

Grab your hot cocoa, marshmallows, and a snuggly blanket, and be prepared to stay glued to your couch—not that you’d want to leave anyway. Check out the full schedule here.
