The event was embargoed until this evening, when Kensington Palace announced that
Kate made the visit to meet children and parents. The Palace also revealed that she will be conducting a survey across the UK to “spark the biggest ever conversation on early childhood that will ultimately help bring about positive, lasting change for generations to come.”

The 5 Big Questions survey was launched on 5bigquestions.org.uk. In a statement, the Duchess of Cambridge said, “Parents, carers and families are at the heart of caring for children in the formative years, so that is why I want to listen to them. As a parent I know how much we cherish the future health and happiness of our children. I want to hear the key issues affecting our families and communities so I can focus my work on where it is needed most. My ambition is to provide a lasting change for generations to come.”

According to royal reporters, Kate is visiting multiple cities across England these next 24 hours to meet parents and children there: Birmingham, London, Cardiff, and Surrey are among the destinations she’s hitting. This is Kate’s biggest work initiative of the year so far.
