Remember earlier this year when that clip of Alex Rodriguez calling Jennifer Lopez his “dream date” made the rounds online? And everyone let out a collective awwwwwww because A-Rod and J-Lo are fully together right now, not to mention engaged.
Well, Alex just made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Jimmy wasted no time forcing him to watch the old clip. In the video, Alex is asked, “What would a dream date for Alex Rodriguez be?” And he doesn’t skip one beat before answering, “Jennifer Lopez, hopefully you can find me a date with her.”
Honestly, his modern-day response to the footage was extremely cute. A-Rod giggled and then said, “That means that dreams actually do come true in America!” Then, he commented on his literal appearance back then and the fact he wore his baseball cap backwards. “You’ve gotta be young to be that cocky and that confident,” he told Jimmy.
Later in the interview, Alex talked about wedding planning with J.Lo, saying they haven’t picked out a venue yet and that J.Lo’s basically in charge of how everything’s going down. To quote: “I would say it’s stressful, but it’s really not. You just let Jennifer plan everything and you say, ‘All right!’” Yes, that is correct.
