How To Watch Looking for Alaska, Hulu’s John Green Adaptation

Any show or movie adapted from a John Green novel comes with an implicit warning: You will feel all of the feelings. That credo was certainly true of 2014’s The Fault in Our Stars and 2015’s Paper Towns. Now, Looking for Alaska will premiere as as an eight-episode limited series on Hulu on Friday, October 18.

The format allows for viewers to become even more emotionally involved with the lead characters of Miles “Pudge” Halter (Charlie Plummer) and Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth). He’s fascinated by last words, inspired by François Rabelais’s to “seek a Great Perhaps.” She’s ruminating on a final thought of her own: Simón Bolívar’s: “Damn it. How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!” Their paths cross at boarding school before tragedy strikes. It’s what Green does best: young love, poetic monologues, and a shadow of mystery.

Here’s how to watch it all unfold.
