Goop Launches Immersive Digital Retail Experience for Canadian Shoppers

Canadians can now peruse and shop MRKT Toronto, Goop’s first-ever pop-up shop north of the border, without ever leaving their home cities (or their couches, for that matter). The Gwyneth-led brand launched an immersive digital shopping experience yesterday, in partnership with Mastercard and Next Retail Concepts. The 3D shop will be live through September 22, allowing digital visitors to browse the store in VR and click on “G Spots” to discover and shop products, from swimwear to skincare. “Consumers today expect a seamless, customized shopping experience across any channel or device,” said Stephane Wyper, senior vice president, new commerce partnerships and commercialization at Mastercard. “We are continuing to evolve ecommerce to bring the physical store to life in an immersive, digital environment.”

Fenty Fans Are Finally Getting a Hydrating Foundation

Further proof that dewy is the new matte, Fenty has announced that the brand will be launching a foundation formula geared towards hydration later this month. Available in 50 shades—in line with the diversity promise Fenty was founded on—Pro Filt’r Hydrating Foundation will hit stores on August 15th, according to a post on the brand’s Instagram page. The new formula will offer “medium to full coverage” while it “keeps skin looking like skin”. It’s an important addition to the lineup for fans of Fenty, whose foundation offerings had skewed towards a matte finish until now.

Victoria Beckham Offers Sneak Peek of New Cosmetics Line

It’s Instagram official: Victoria Beckham is launching a beauty line. “From labs to meetings… Busy working on #VictoriaBeckhamBeauty,” the former Spice Girl wrote in a post on her Instagram page, which also included the hashtag #CleanBeauty. According to Hello Magazine, more details were revealed via Beckham’s stories, in which she answered fan questions, like whether the makeup would be suitable for a range of different skin types (it will) and whether it would be organic, sustainable and cruelty-free (also an affirmative). “I have always been passionate about health and wellness so it was really important to me that we developed products using only the cleanest, most sustainable ingredients possible,” Beckham said. “Without compromising on high performance.” No word yet on a drop date for the cosmetics line, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to Beckham’s feed for more hints.

Ear ‘Tickling’ Could Slow the Ageing Process, Says New Study

According to a new study out of the University of Leeds, creams and lasers aren’t the only way to reverse signs of ageing. ‘Tickle’ therapy, a process in which the ear is stimulated with a small electrical current, may offer an alternate route for youth-seekers. Scientists used a therapy called “transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation” to “rebalance the autonomic nervous system for over-55s, potentially slowing down one of the effects of ageing.” With two weeks of daily treatment, they were able to show improvements to both physical and psychological states in participants, according to the study. “The ear is like a gateway through which we can tinker with the body’s metabolic balance, without the need for medication or invasive procedures,” lead author Dr. Beatrice Bretherton said in a statement. “We believe these results are just the tip of the iceberg.”
