Gomez was shot leaving a recording studio in Los Angeles on Tuesday, wearing overalls and a white tank. Her newly-long hair was styled in cascading waves. She is, put simply, exactly how you’d like to look the day after your ex got married.
Us Weekly got a scoop from a source on Gomez’s headspace the day of Bieber’s wedding. For context, Gomez and Bieber broke up for the last time in March last year after starting to date again in October 2017. Bieber started dating Baldwin in June 2018, got engaged in July 2018, and married legally in September 2018.
“Selena knows she’s better off without Justin, and that it’s the healthiest decision for her,” a source told the outlet. “She is open to dating, but right now she is solely focused on herself and enjoying life to the best of her ability, and getting back to being the Selena that she and all of her close ones knew prior to dating Justin.”
That source added that Gomez has been doing great. “She is in a good place. She has been hanging out with old friends and family and keeping herself out of the limelight and away from public places where she might feel bombarded or overwhelmed.”
Gomez herself has spoken about how much better she is doing now than a year ago. In a speech she gave on her mental health journey last month, Gomez talked about the work she has done over the past year to work on the pain and anxiety she felt. “I can say that after a year of a lot of intense work that I am happier, I am healthier, and I’m in control of my emotions and thoughts more than I’ve ever been, so I’m very happy about that,” she told the audience.
