Everything We Know About Season 3 of Killing Eve

Warning: Season 2 spoilers ahead.

The finale of Killing Eve‘s second season might have been suspenseful, but at least we’ve known for awhile that there will be a third season of BBC America’s cult cat-and-mouse dramedy. The show was renewed on the heels on the show’s season 2 premiere. So what’s next? Here’s everything we know so far about Killing Eve season 3.

Who’s returning and who’s leaving?

By now, Killing Eve fans know to expect the unexpected when it comes to Eve and Villanelle’s turbulent relationship, and the final scene of the Killing Eve season 2 finale was one no one saw coming. Eve stabbed Villanelle in the season 1 finale, so Villanelle returned the favor and shot Eve in the final scene of Sunday night’s episode, leaving Eve in a pool of her own blood. Obviously, Eve can’t be dead (…right?) since the show was renewed for a third season (and a fourth season), so Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer probably aren’t going anywhere just yet.

Eve’s sidekick and computer wiz Kenny (Sean Delaney), M16 agent Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw), and the rest of Eve’s squad are expected to make a return in season 3 as well.

Season 3 is also kicking off with a new showrunner, Suzanne Heathcote. Heathcote will be replacing Emerald Fennell, who helmed season 2 and took over from Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

“It’s been such an exciting year for me on Killing Eve. I think it’s cool that this tradition has been built into this untraditional show. Inheriting some of Phoebe’s characters was a treat —I can’t wait to see what Suzanne does next,” said Fennell. Waller-Bridge added, “We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands.”

For the third season, Heathcote will join fellow executive producers Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Gina Mingacci, Damon Thomas, and Sandra Oh. Jeff Melvoin (Designated Survivor) will also join the executive producing team next season.

When will season 3 be released?

BBC America made Valentine’s Day a whole lot sweeter with the news that our favorite couple, Eve and Villanelle, will return to our screens on April 26. BBC America also released new images from season three that show Villanelle dressed up as a clown, Carolyn and Eve in a heated discussion, and an appearance from Konstantin and Niko.

What will season 3 be about?

Is Eve dead? What is going through Villanelle’s mind right now? These are questions on everyone’s mind right now, and they will be answered when season 3 premieres. Killing Eve‘s executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle told Deadline, “I think what is fun about the show is because we kill so many people, there’s always room to bring in new brilliant key people that you either kill or you’re going to keep going—but we’ve got a plan.”

The cat-and-mouse chase between Eve and Villanelle is far from over. Who will get caught in the crossfire this time?

Killing Eve airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on BBC America.
